LifeStory ("we", "us", "our") provides a family memory platform that lets you record life moments, build a personal timeline, and preserve stories for yourself and your loved ones. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use aiforrecord.com and how we handle it.

2. Information we collect

• Account information — username, password (hashed), optionally email or phone number you provide at registration.
• Profile information — the names, birthdays, and life-stage details of the people you create in your family timeline ("persons").
• Content you create — text records, voice recordings, photos, milestone tags, time capsules, messages, and book drafts you submit.
• Relationship data — links you establish with other users (e.g., family member connections), invitations, and group memberships.
• Usage data — basic technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages accessed) used for security and operation.

3. How we use your information

• To operate the service: store, organize, and display your records and timeline.
• To power AI-assisted features: voice-to-text transcription, photo OCR, and story drafting. AI processing is used only to serve the feature you request.
• To maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve the service.

4. How we store your information

Your content is stored on servers we operate. Data is protected with access controls, and we retain it for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and content at any time (see Section 6).

5. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Content you mark as Public may be visible to other visitors of the plaza. Content you mark as Only me or Family is visible only to you or your confirmed family links. We do not share your data with third parties except as required by law or to operate essential infrastructure (e.g., AI processing providers for the features you use).

6. Your control and rights

• You can edit or delete your records, persons, and drafts at any time.
• You can delete your account; we will remove your account data (unless retention is required by law).
• You can request a copy of your data or ask questions about it by contacting us (Section 10).

7. Children's privacy

LifeStory can be used to record the childhood of minors (e.g., a parent documenting a baby's milestones). We take children's privacy seriously. Where the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) applies, we require a parent or guardian to provide verifiable consent before we knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian may review, and request deletion of, their child's information at any time. See our Children's Privacy Notice for details.

8. Security

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed credentials, and access controls to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we strive to protect your information but cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised date. Material changes will be communicated through the service where appropriate.
